The Liebster Award: A Virtual Award To Bloggers By Bloggers

This past Friday, I was honored to see a nomination by One Smart Fortunate Cookie for a Liebster Award. I started this blog, Ginger Reflections 2 months ago but I’m not a stranger to blogging entirely.  I was introduced to blogging by a very good friend of mine about two years ago.  It really means a lot to me to be nominated for this award and I’m happy to accept.  Please check out the One Smart Fortunate Cookie blog as I believe you will find it to be very inspiring.

So What is the Liebster Award?
Getting nominated for the Liebster provides an opportunity for bloggers to have fun on their blog and share new things with their readers.

The Liebster is a virtual award given to bloggers by other bloggers.
The award has been around since 2011.

Liebster (German) = sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcoming.

What to do if you’ve been nominated for a Liebster Award
1. Thank the person who nominated you, and put a link to their blog on your blog.
2. Display the award on your blog.
3. Write a small post about what makes you passionate about blogging. Coming soon.
4. Provide 10 random facts about yourself.
5. Nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel would enjoy blogging about this award.
6. List these rules in your post.
7. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated.

Here are my answers to the questions that DJ asked me:
1. To what fictional place would you most want to go? Because I’m a Harry Potter Fan, it only makes sense that I’d love to go to Hogwarts.
2. Night owl, or early bird? Definitely more of a night owl.  
3. What is something that you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? Visit Vegas!  
4. If your life were a movie, what would the title be? She does a thing called what she wants!
5. What is your hidden talent? Most people don’t know that I can play the violin although I haven’t done it in quite awhile.  It’s very therapeutic and I can get totally lost in it once I start playing.
6. What is the best compliment you ever received? I don’t have any children but I had a German Shepherd for 12 years who was my heart.  I had someone tell me once that by the way I cared for my pup, I would have been a terrific mother.  
7. What book, other than a religious text, influenced your life the most? “Conquering Codependency – a Christian based 12 step program”
8. Where is your dream vacation? I would love to visit Ireland one day.
9. What is the most memorable gift you ever received? My Cabbage Patch doll when I was a little girl.  My mother, being a single mother, always trying to make ends meet, made sure I had the most popular doll in the world at that time.  It’s something I will never forget receiving.  Thank you, momma! 🙂
10. What do you want to be remembered for? Having a kind heart in a cruel world.

1. My biggest fear is a spider!
2. My first concert was Neil Diamond
3. I am an only child
4. I am very extroverted…never met a stranger
5. I love the fall.  Driving through Williamsburg, VA during that time of year is gorgeous.
6. I know all the words to “Ice Ice Baby” and I’m not afraid to crank it up with the windows down.  LOL
7. I am a red-headed Scorpio which I think some may shrink back at that combo.
8. Pink is my favorite color
9. I can play the violin
10. I am a hopeless romantic and a total girly girl and hope I stay that way.  Life could always use a little more sparkle and glitter.  Pink sparkle and glitter to be exact 🙂
