Are You Ready?
That was the question the breeder asked me before handing Tobi over to me on the sunny Friday morning in September. “Are you ready”? Me, feeling very confident, told her I was more than ready and was excited to take him home. Looking back, I know what she meant and it was a tongue in cheek type of question.

When The Time Is Right…You’ll Know
It’s been a year and a half since I lost my Rudi. He was very first German Shepherd and we shared a bond that can’t be replicated between two humans, in my opinion. There are posts about him peppered in throughout my blog. He’s was an integral part of my life…I only wish his lifespan had been much greater than 12 years.

Think Before You Speak
“Think before you speak”.

I think I was in some sort of shock because I couldn’t wrap my brain around what she was telling me. My dog was in a medical crisis and had been since 10pm that night and it was almost 1am the next morning. He was suffering from bloat or as she technically labeled it Gastric Dilatation.
A Girl And Her Dog
Let me start by saying this….at one point in my life, my number one constant was my German Shepherd, Rudi.
I was lucky enough to have such a loyal companion for 12 years before I lost him to a sudden onset of bloat. Although it was one of the hardest things in my life to lose such a fiercely faithful defender, I will always have a special place in my heart dedicated to the happiest times in my life because of him.
