Weekend Getaway In Cape Charles
Who knew Virginia had the best kept secret in a quaint little city called Cape Charles. Just on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge there’s rest, relaxation and rejuvenation from the busy rush of a work week.
And Gary and I found it surfing the internet for a weekend getaway. But pictures on a computer screen couldn’t do it justice.
We decided to take a long weekend, in June of last year, to Cape Charles, stay in a bed and breakfast, with no agenda and no care in the world.

My Go-To Make Up Must Haves
Hello there, my lovey’s! Today I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite finds when it comes to my make up routine. The picture above is everything I use on my face to feel put together (minus my skin care techniques which I’ll get into in another post).
These have become my “go to” items for just a day at the office or a night on the town.
I’ll start from the top!

God, Where Are You?
Have you ever asked that question? “God, where are you?”
I think a lot of us can relate to that sentiment. We feel He isn’t there or we can’t hear Him. We can’t find Him. Mostly because we feel like we aren’t getting what WE want out of life so we end up doing our own thing. What does that look like? It resembles us drifting away.

Sunday’s Message – Fear Not!

Focus On Gratitude
Last year I started a gratefulness journal. I’m not going to lie and say I’ve kept it up religiously, but on the days that I truly focus on what I’m grateful for, I can’t give power to negative thinking in that moment. And that right there is key!
I find it to be an important part of my day when I make time to sit and recall the positivity in my life.

What Is Bloat?
I stared at the x-rays the veterinarian brought into the room at the 24 hour emergency pet hospital.
I think I was in some sort of shock because I couldn’t wrap my brain around what she was telling me. My dog was in a medical crisis and had been since 10pm that night and it was almost 1am the next morning. He was suffering from bloat or as she technically labeled it Gastric Dilatation.
The Shenandoah Valley
I wanted this post to capture the essence of how vastly different parts of Virginia can be. While I live on the coastal side of Virginia, just taking a drive a little west displays a whole other world with mountainous views and farmland.
I love living in Virginia because it truly is a beautiful state and there is so much diversity in different areas that you can travel to and enjoy.
A Girl And Her Dog
Let me start by saying this….at one point in my life, my number one constant was my German Shepherd, Rudi.
I was lucky enough to have such a loyal companion for 12 years before I lost him to a sudden onset of bloat. Although it was one of the hardest things in my life to lose such a fiercely faithful defender, I will always have a special place in my heart dedicated to the happiest times in my life because of him.
